Welcome to Downtown Eastside Connect

Downtown Eastside Connect is a community information centre located inside the Woodward’s building. Opened at the beginning of February, 2010, the Downtown Eastside Connect helps tell the story about innovative partnerships underway to improve the quality of life for people in the Downtown Eastside. The general public and media will find the Downtown Eastside Connect provides a frank, informative perspective on the revitalization of a community deeply rooted in Vancouver’s history.

Learn about real people transforming their lives in the face of daunting challenges. Their story is the community’s story – their success is the community’s success. It’s a story of hope, renewal and revitalization.

Take the opportunity to see how the Province of British Columbia and the City of Vancouver, along with non-profit partners, are helping people in the Downtown Eastside through a range of programs – including housing, support services and economic development.
